i am happy to know that my internship is successful. that shows that i didn't screw up my interview that day.

on the other hand, i've another job offer(not internship) at AIG, and the pay would definitely be higher and of course, nearer to my house.

however, the job at AIG is damn mundane admin work, whereas the RP is events coordination and human resource work, something i'm looking foward to, and they were telling me during the interview that my first task when i start my work is to plan the president's visit in august.

now, choose between RP or AIG.

put this aside. i'll be busy next week, trying hard to juggle between my tuition schedule as well as my exams. unfortunately for this semester, both my exams and my student's exams clashed with each other. ): and i cannot be that irresponsible to give up his exams just for the sake of preparing for my own exams. ahhh. SO, i predicted a busy/hectic/tiring week ahead. ):

God, give me the strength yah. (:

so i went for dinner with my friend. i still prefer my dingtaifeng instead of crystal jade. (: and rochor tau huay still rock my appetite! (: they renovated - with an additional space at the 2nd level! (: it's air-conditioned somemore! HAHA.

OKAYS, tuition tomorrow. and more muggings tomorrow! (:

my chelsea's match tonight! i shall watch my 2 episodes of drama first, then study 2 chaps of cognitive psych, and ta da! i'll be just right, all set and ready for my chelsea's match! (:

xoxo

Dr Wang was nice enough to email to the dept manager about my lost cards, and yup, they found my cards, and i went to retrieve them. (:

alright, it has been proven. when miss leepin is in her foul mood, she will:

1) eat chocolate
2) keep quiet
3) stay in the room
4) sleep early
5) cut her hair the next day

and i cut my hair yesterday. (: at least it did made me happy.

oh yeah. i gave miss yew and clique another choice for my birthday present.
ta-da! my chelsea jacket! (: but they have to ship from UK if they really decide to buy this for me! but its cheaper to buy this jacket for me rather than the fossil watch! (: furthermore, this time round we gotta buy miss yew's and sebastian's present. (: so the clique more or less will be killed by the cost. (: haha. and i like this jacket! it's so chelsea-ish. (: too bad singapore doesn't have chelsea jackets (female) available. ):

talking about chelsea, today is the 2nd leg between liverpool and chelsea for the place against man united in the champions league finals. YESH, sigh. man united scored the only goal against barcelona. yucks!

now i just pray chelsea will score today with lampard back into the team! (:

okays, back to studying cognitive psych.

AND DID I MENTIONED I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH MY MUM BECAUSE THE MOMENT I RETURNED HOME SHE STARTED TO SCOLD ME FOR MY MISPLACED CARDS INSTEAD OF ASKING ME HOW WAS MY PAPER AND HOW WAS MY CRAMPS! ARGH!

IT'S ALL THE MONEY THAT SHE'S THINKING.

SO NOW SHE IS NOT TALKING TO ME. NEITHER AM I TALKING TO HER SINCE I AM IN SUCH A BAD MOOD THAT I COULD FLARE UP AND QUARREL WITH HER!

WHAT A FREAKING DAY!

//I WANT TO CRY ALREADY! ):

SHE NEEDS COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY PLEASE.

my cramps was bad, and the strong air con worsen it. ):

obviously i was doing the paper not in the right condition. DAMN. now i just pray the cramps won't affect my EL results. SOMETIMES I JUST WISHED I COULD GET RID OF THE UTERUS SO THAT I WON'T HAVE SUCH PAIN ANYMORE! ):

and what a freaking day i have. i left my matriculation and my EZlink card on the table in the examination hall. and when i realised it and went back to retrieve it, the hall was locked. SO WHAT? yah, i am a freaking smart alec who didn't bring wallet along with her during the exams! SO WHAT? SO OBVIOUSLY I HAVE NO MONEY TO GO HOME! ARGH. and i managed to dig out $1 coin in my bag. YAH, SO LUCKY (with sarcasm). AND I ENDED UP BORROWING ANOTHER $1 FROM MY YEAR 1 SEM 1 MODULE MATE TO TAKE THE FREAKING 2 BUSES HOME.

AND OF CUZ I WAS ALREADY IN A DAMN FOUL MOOD. AND I SAW THIS CRUEL WOMAN VERBALLY AND PHYSICALLY TORTURE HER DISABLED HUSBAND. WTH?! THERE ARE PLENTY OF SEATS AROUND AND YET SHE REFUSED TO LET HER HUSBAND SIT. AND SHE USED THE UMBRELLA TO HIT HER HUSBAND'S HAND WHEN HE'S HOLDING ON TO THE HANDLE.

AND EVERYONE WHO HAS A HEART WILL DEFINITELY BE PISSED UPON SEEING THAT. SO THE BUS DRIVER STOPPED THE BUS AND TOLD THE WOMAN TO LET THE HUSBAND SIT, AND THE WOMAN BECAME MAD AND SCOLDED THE BUS DRIVER, ASKING HIM NOT TO BE KAPO AND DRIVE THE BUS. WLAU!

AND SINCE I'M ALREADY IN A DAMN BAD MOOD, SEEING SUCH INCIDENT MAKES ME BOILED MORE, AND I STARTD TO STARE HARD AT THE WOMAN. AND SHE SAW IT, AND SHE OBVIOUSLY ISN'T HAPPY WITH ME AND STARTED TO SCOLD ME. WTH?! OKAYS, I'M NOT THE ONLY VICTIM, BUT THOSE WHO TOLD HER TO LET HER HUSBAND SIT WERE SCOLDED BY HER AS WELL.

ARGH! AND I COULD HAVE WENT UP TO HER AND START TO SCOLD HER, SINCE MY MOOD IS SO BAD.

ARGH! I AM PISSED.

AND I JUST FEEL SO SILLY TO BE THERE FOR PEOPLE BUT YET THEY CAN'T BE THERE FOR ME, NOT AS IF I WANT THEM TO MEET ME AND HEAR ME WHINE, BUT JUST A REPLY OF 'HOW ARE YOU' WOULD BE NICE ISN'T IT?!

AHHHHHHHHH! FINE! I AM NOT ENJOYING TODAY!

i am confident in this module

BUT

i'm suffering from my monthly cramps.

DAMN.

now tell me what to do besides preparing myself with the multiple panadols to ease the pain. ):

God, don't let it affect my paper later on, please.

THE BLUES SCORED! (:

i've never been so happy ever since avram grant came into chelseafc. but after watching tonight's match, it was all the smiles on my face and all the pouts on wei quan's face. the blues played damn well tonight, except for the trivial argument between drogba and ballack. and i supposed they played well for the deceased Pat Lampard.

i believe any single soul would feel for the Lampards after reading today's article. and chelsea showed it by playing their game well as well as the black band on each and every player's arm. (: and yesh! their scorings and their winning meant that chelsea is on par with the reds on the scoring table now. (: sorry wei quan, i know this entry is dedicated to you, so obviously i should write some nice things about manchester united. (: but i really detest them! haha. especially cristiano ronaldo. (: no doubt they have good players, but they are not any comparable to my chelsea players! (: haha. don't fret. i supposed man United will win the match against barcelona. (:

final score : chelsea 2 - man united 1. (: ballack rocks! OH! i wonder what happened to shevchenko! they bought him at such a high price and after jose mourihno left, his appearance in the games were rare! but he did saved the goal from man united at the very last minute! so, applause and more applauses! (:

i am obviously delighted after the game! HEHE! my blues will defeat liverpool on tuesday! (: watch them in action mans! (: lalala!

OKAYSSSS, so i'm left with 2 days to my 1st paper. (: and i finished my EL revision already, i'm just left with doing the past year exams' questions. (: okays! i am confident i will do well for this module! anyway, whilst mugging hard, i realised my textbooks are really piling up and occupying the space of my study table. and it's so awfully arranged that my mum has been nagging me to pack it nicely lest toppling off the table and damage the floorings! TSK! as if my books are made of metal.

obviously the wind won't be that strong to topple off the books larrrr.. sigh! and my mum forced me to tidy my table. ): and i ended up shifting everything in the same arrangement under the table. (: HAHA!

OKAY YESH, psychology has too many readings already. and like what mama said, the readings are making me psychotic. (: haha. i'd admit, considering the fact that i am so joyous over the mugging sessions.

NOW, to the hongkong dramas. (:

I FINISHED MY FIRST REVISION FOR COGNITIVE PSYCH. (:

shall continue my 2nd round next week. meanwhile, it's EL revision tomorrow. (: wlau! prof Wang is really nice to send me more emails reassuring me that the exam will be easy and i will do well. HAHAHA. she rocks lar! (:

OKAYS, anyway, i realised mr brown show is funny. HAHA. he can really go against the govt in a damn humorous way. (: and his podcasts on the issue of mas selamat's escape made me laughed - lame! (:

whee!
my birthday is like in 2 wks' time. (: miss yew don't really want to get for me that fossil watch! bahhh! so she asked if i want any jewellery. and i said yesh, purple gold from lee hwa please! (: so we went to check it out the price. and there isn't any purple gold item which cost less than their budget! (: alritey! i shall reserve the chance of receiving purple gold (ring) from my partner in the future! haha. i used to think of this - engagement: purple gold ring and the real wedding band shall be a tiffany&co diamond ring. OPPS.

OKAYS, it is good to dream sometimes you know? (:

ahh, but i still look forward to this year's bdae! (: i hope i won't be disappointed. i know i shouldn't pin much hope into it. bahh! (: come on ping, concentrate on your exams first! (:

damn! my student owes me my pay for 3 weeks alreadyyyyy. and its not that she's poor, she's filthy rich lar! BOOO! and it's not the first time she has been owing me tuition fees! serene, you this experienced tuition teacher!!! tell me what to do! HAHA! i am so tempted to go up to her house and use crayons and draw on her wall (O$P$). (: according to behavourism, behaviours are learned and modeled. therefore, i'm learning this tactic from the loansharks. poor them, they became so budget that they started to use crayons to draw on the walls instead of using red/black paints. (: so i presume no more pig heads hanging outside the door uh?

the economy is bad again! inflation and more inflation! the silent tsunami is causing sufferings in everyone! bahh! and did you read today's straits times? the vendors in schools' canteens are raising their food prices! OMG! i pity the students. and what if these students come from a poor family background? they are so damn young(primary schoolers) and obviously they can't come out and work to earn the extra bucks. so does that mean they gotta starve during recess as a result of this increase? okays. there will be financial aid provided. but aiyah, they(the culprits) just don't know the financial capabilities of family work as a spectrum and not just the extremes. financial aids are only provided to the extreme end. what about the gray areas then! BOOO!

my first horrifying paper is on monday 5pm. Dr Wang is kind enough to email me the topics to focus, and definitely it will help me in my revision on friday. (:

it's open book exams though. the notes, my own notes, tutorials and not-the-small dictionary from my friend. (:

sorry, but i don't buy the findings of the COI on the escape of mas selamat.

the gurkhas are supposed to be the elites, and yet i found their blunder so unacceptable.

just like what MP Baey said, didn't they exercise the basic common sense? SIGH, and to think that our top secured buildings are guarded by the gurkhas, or maybe singapore's security throughout the years has been that safe that the gurkhas have slacken.

and i believe the public will really question about the common sense of the guards and the SOPs deployed by the WRDC in the forum page in the straits times these few days.

and the opposition parties are real bad in portraying themselves during the parliament seating. (: Low Thia Khiang talked as if he is trying to pick some fight. Chiam See Tong, someone whom i used to think he's the best among the opposition leaders, has weakened. maybe he has aged; he talks as though he has some dementia. that's bad.

and there's this MP (or maybe hes NMP), omg! his english is bad! he speaks badly! OKAYS, i am not trying to say that my spoken language is good, but i mean, since he is the MP, he should at least speak proper english and not some english converse in some hawker centres!

ahh! i love parliament! i shall see wad PM Lee gotta say in tmr's seating! (:

and i really pity DPM Wong. he pouted whenever some MP came up and asked some real 'painful' questions!

oh well, these ministers have high salary! so the more they should settle these! (:

and the interview was so scary! a panel of 3 with their laptops, and they just can't stopped typing while i'm talking. and their questions were as if i'm applying for a full time permanent HR post in RP. -stared hard-

OKAYS, and obviously i wasn't prepared for the interview. the ERRS and the ERMS. SIGH! if only those 3 staffs were my cadets. OH MANS, den i would have spoken with more confidence! but then again, i would end up talking to them as though i'm yelling at them. BAHH.

it was sushi for dinner again. (:

tuitions were canceled and thus, decided to have sushi buffet with my bro, and nicey him treated me. (:

okays, too much indulgence for this 2 consecutive days. (:

ANYWAY,

i decided to reject the commScope Solutions' internship offer. Republic Polytechnic got back to me, and i'm going to their interview on monday.

actually i don't really wanna work for RP as an intern. firstly, it's too far away, secondly, the pay is $750 only. but i haven't receive any replies from MOE regarding its internship! SIGH!

oh! (: my nicey friend bought the army shorts for me using his army credits! and i felt kinda bad because i don't think he has enough credits for himself! haha! OH WELL, we seem to be unable to find a common date to run together! ): it's either he had to stay in camp on friday for his extra practices or i injured myself. SIGH, and now that he no longer stays out, booking out on saturday would mean he will be tired and not able to run uh! BAHH, let's see how it goes. (:

set adrift on a memory bliss (:

i behave as if exams are over! (:

no lectures for these 3 days. i did indicate in my organizer that i will study pediatric today. but you see, i mean, since prof tay already given us the exams questions, there's not really a need to study uh? i just need to work out the answers and copy them down and memorise like a nerd! (:

and i din't really wanna touch the other modules because i've already scheduled to study those modules next week. (:

so i ended up sleeping the entire day before meeting my friend for sushi dinner. (: i supposed it's been long since i last ate sakae! (: they've even changed the discount card to DBS and HSBC instead of UOB! DAMN! to think that i wanted to accumulate my UOB uni$ lar! SIGH! and my DBS card doesn't have such benefits! BAHH!

OH! after so long of being loyal towards PAP, miss leepin finally gotten her share on part of the Singapore 07's surplus! (: HAHAHA! that $650 put such a wide smile on her face! (: if you actually think of it, we totally deserved this sum of money lar! Singapore's annual surplus is way too much and they should really give PART of it out to Singaporeans, afterall we are the ones who contributed to part of this growth uh? (: and yesh, the 2% GST increase is driving me mad especially when i'm such a food lover and such a shopaholic! (: this increase does make me feel the pinch whenever i foot the bill! so the $250 GST credits will be the aid to the pinches i feel! (:

i'm just thinking through this, the food inflation has been an issue recently. NTUC has revealed its help to the needy through the U-stretch thingy. and i'm just thinking about it, maybe during the parliament seating, the MPs will bring up this issue, and MAYBE the minister of finance will introduce FOOD INFLATION OFFSET PACKAGE uh? HAHAH! then i will love tharman (correct spelling of his name?) to the bits mans!

but i seriously don't understand the reason for the sudden inflation in food and oil prices, which kinda affects all the countries! and it has been the headlines on the papers for a few days. i'm really glad IMF actually bring this up and stated the seriousness of this inflation! actually i think the main concern is the less developed countries. you can imagine how they will starve and suffer from malnutrition as a result. SIGH.

oh! another issue which kinda bothers me! damn! if you did read about the review section on the straits times (saturday's issue), you will know how the disabled are being taken advantage of and i would say in my defintion of being bullied. ):

they work exactly the same job as others, and yet they only receive 1/10 of the salary, which equates to about $100 per month? if you come to think of it, their transportation would cost about $90, and what?! they're left with 10 pathetic bucks for their meals and savings? i think this is so absurd! okays, at least macDonalds offers about $400 basic pay, that's fair enough. but for those damn companies which take advantage of the disabled, i seriously think something should be done regarding this! (: and i always believe straits times are able to bring such issues to light! (:

let's just wait and see then! (:

happy tuesday! (:

miss leepin is just so embarrassed today. ): i don't know to laugh or to hide my face, but my two friends seem to be damn amused by it! (:

went brunch with mummy! felt that i should spend some more time with her, especially that i've neglected her for the past week due to my projects and tests! (: so she was contemplating if she should buy fried carrot cake to share, because she's quite wary about my diet you see! so when she asked me if i ate any eggs yesterday, i said no (with my fingers crossed below the table). HEHE.

OKAYS, thats not the embarrassing part. ANYWAY, had to meet guimei and viviana at cck. so, i happily took a bus to jurong interchange and yah, wanted to take a train from there! AND SMTH HAPPENED, my soles for one side of my shoes partially came out! den i was thinking, okays, maybe i should walk slowly, and i will buy a new pair when i reached cck! (: DEN, after walking for 10 steps, it totally came out! damn! and i was at jurong BUS interchange when this happened! GOODNESS, so ITS OKAYS, i tot maybe i could just take out the soles and walked without it you see, DEN! another 5 steps, my soles for another side came out also! DAMN! and at this time i was already quite embarrassed, cuz that right side which i've taken out the soles already, it was torn into erm, half! SO PRACTICALLY I COULDNT REALLY WALK YOU SEE! so i stood right in the middle of the ticket concourse level and called guimei! she just couldn't stop laughing! frankly, i couldn't stop laughing as well, but it's just so embarrassing!

so she advised me to SLIDE my way right up to the mrt! and i was thinking if i should just take out my shoes and walk barefooted! considering the fact that i was wearing a skirt and i don't think it will look good doing that, and that it will gain more attention you see! SIGH, so i slowly slowly WALKED UP AND YESH, i only could just walk down the exit of cck when the crowd dispersed! ): and viviana was laughing at me when she saw me (yesh, miss yew called her and told her about it, and even asked her to help me find the cheapest slippers). OKAYS, but anyway, WE just stood there still until miss yew arrived with a new pair of cheap covered shoes for me! (:

AIYAH, it was just so embarrassing, and the two girls just couldnt stop laughing! SIGH!

OKAYS, the parade was kinda a letdown! and theres not much spectators! or maybe, theres not much spectators whom we know you see! ): so it wasn't that fantastic to us! and theres quite alot of cock ups! even mr masagos' mic was reduced to such minimal level that no one could hear what he said! (: and no one did anything! (: the flag party was BAD! OKAYS, anyway, this could be the last year we will be attending such things! (: so yah!

and they decided to shop at town, especially viviana has been cooped at home for too long that she realised she needs to go on a shopping spree! (: so over at dinner, they were asking me about my current situation with him, and they gave me quite negative feedbacks and opinions, which were of total opposite ones from some of my frens who felt that there's good progress and maybe there could be a chance... OH WELL! i don't know! but like what i've said, i'm happy with the current state! i'm happy with how we are interacting! (: maybe the rest of it i will just leave it aside! (:

now let's see what he will do on my bdae uh? (:

Daily caffeine 'protects brain'

Coffee
The easy way to neutralise cholesterol?

Coffee may cut the risk of dementia by blocking the damage cholesterol can inflict on the body, research suggests.

"Caffeine appears to block several of the disruptive effects of cholesterol that make the blood-brain barrier leaky," said Dr Jonathan Geiger, who led the study.

"High levels of cholesterol are a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease, perhaps by compromising the protective nature of the blood brain barrier.

"Caffeine is a safe and readily available drug and its ability to stabilise the blood brain barrier means it could have an important part to play in therapies against neurological disorders."

A spokesman for the Alzheimer's Disease Society said that the study shed "important light" on why previous research had showed benefits for drinking coffee.

"This is the best evidence yet that caffeine equivalent to one cup of coffee a day can help protect the brain against cholesterol.

"In addition to its effect on the vascular system, elevated cholesterol levels also cause problems with the blood brain barrier.

"This barrier, which protects the brain from toxins and infections, is less efficient prior to brain damage caused by Alzheimer's disease or strokes."

melatonin causes it

But when hormonal changes kick in at the start of adolescence, she told AFP, young people start to stay up later and -- given the chance -- wake up later too.

Most of the students in the study were such "evening persons," she said.

"Teenagers find that they are most alert in the evening and do not feel sleepy until later, and so find it difficult to get enough sleep during school term," she added.

The key is melatonin, a hormone that signals to the body that it needs rest and sleep. In teenagers entering puberty, it is released later and later in the evening.

There are also environmental factors that contribute to the problem, she said.

Ambient light tends to minimize the amount of melatonin secreted, and the constant use of computers could keep adolescents up past their natural bedtime, even after lights are turned out.

"One thing parents can do is to lower the lights, and switch off computers and televisions an hour before bedtime," advised Warner.

In the study, Warner and two colleagues compared the sleep patterns of 310 students during a school term and while they were on holiday.

Whereas the adolescents slept more than nine hours during the school breaks, they averaged less than eight hours when hitting the books.
