i was going through the photos in my laptop, and the photos during my jc years kinda triggered me. i have been going on my tuesdays' lunch with val sweets, and last tuesday we spent the entire 4 hours reminiscing the times we spent in catholic junior college. (:

we spent 3/4 of our 2 years in cjc running away from brother paul, michael tan and yati. these people always catch us(apparently, we were the wanted people in their list) with our improper attire and we never failed to get scoldings from them and sending us to detention. it even went to the extent of yati wanted to call our parents and even suspend us from school. our draw strings from our shirts were confiscated everytime they caught us, and we were made to pull up our socks and tuck in our shirts, unfold our skirts to one palm below knee level. (:

and my dear clique were always the first to rush to canteen whenever the recess bell rang. we don't really care if lesson has ended, we will just leave for recess. (: and we simply loved recess because we could bitch about people we disliked and gossip about others.

going lectures was a dread though. my clique would take the longest to head to the lecture hall and we set up our own seating plan amongst us during lectures. valerie sat beside me and she always dozed off, with me always vandalising her notes with my grammatically wrong sentence 'you sucks, i rawk'. evan is our clique's dear jie mei! and he had never failed to worry for us as we were the only ones not studying hard. we did made it to university afterall. (:

we skipped PE to go canteen and eat, we ran away from lectures and got caught by michael tan, and he would personally sent us to our lectures and everyone would stared hard at us, as though we were some aliens, and our home tutor was of course damn pissed with us because michael tan will scold her for not taking us in hand. we were late for assembly and sent to detention, we failed all the subjects and parents were being summoned.

SIGH, how i dread the growing up phase. how i dread the life in university and the people i know. there are no moments worth cherishing in university, let alone the motivation to study hard in this campus.

i want to go back to my jc life. i miss the sky blue uniform and my dear sweets.

Tian is still in NPCC and in Area 14 as well? I mean, during AGM, we
brought up this issue, so i just hope the new SG/ASG could clear our
doubts by clarifying with AC.

secondly, Ben is no longer in area 14. He has been posted to area 18.
I believe Hovman has chosen another area too when they were converted
to HOs. SO once again, please confirm with them and update the
officers' contact list.

Meera brought up the issue of active CIs being 'insured' by HQ, so who
are the CIs who we considered as active? those in AC's list or we can
choose and pick?

this is not an email of shooting or outcasting, if anyone actually
thought it was. and i just hope the replies to this email is not

FYI, Hovman is still in Area 14. You mean you do not know that your
fellow HO is still in Area 14 and being posted to Henderson? And we
thought you are leaving?

Does your email mean that if there are no active CI(s) in the unit,
will it mean that the whole unit can be pulled out for the area or
that AC will post another CI to the unit.

Just to clarify, Jun Jiang, Kai Jie and I will still go back
Henderson. We will check yahoo groups regularly and if there are any
Area events, we will take note of it and try to make it for at least
1 meeting.

I (we) don't know that HO Hovman is still in our area. There wasn't
any news about his postings after he got converted to HO. Furthermore,
I don't think unit CIs of Henderson did update the area about their
latest CIs/HOs. Thus, leaving the area to ponder over which CIs or HOs
are still available and active.

As regards to your 2nd paragraph, I believed you've misread my email.
Do allow me to re-explain my previous email regarding the issue of
active CIs. CIs will be considered out of NPCC when they reached to
the age of 22, unless they further their route of advancement to
either HIs (the specialised people with skills like kayaking etc – the
non uniform personnel) or HOs (we are still wearing the NPCC uniform).
And thus, when CIs of this age are out of NPCC (without any route of
advancement), they are no longer being `insured' by HQ and this is
what I considered this as NON ACTIVE. Maybe our definition of ACTIVE
is different, thenceforth the miscommunication.

So referring to my email, we are unclear of how our AREA AC would want
our CIs to be, whether we want to follow the HQ's directives, which I
stated in my previous email as the CIs in AC's list or we have our own
Area's rules to welcome the help of these CIs? This is the reason why
I seek clarification from the SG/ASG to ask our AC about this.

So coming back to your 2nd paragraph, I can't seem to find a link to
what I've stated in my email. That's why I said maybe there is a
miscommunication between the both of us. But to reply your queries, if
there is no unit CIs at all in an unit, OsC units can request for new
CIs from HQ or they can live well without CIs, and maybe that's why HQ
is going to implement the Project Track to help units with no CIs, as
this can be used to teach the cadets with the soft and hard skills of
NPCC. Definitely it won't be so silly to go to the extent of pulling
the unit out of the Area. If that's the case, what is the purpose of
having 20 Areas in NPCC? (:

So now, the area understands that you and Jun Jiang are still active
in our area events. However, we still need to seek clarification from
our AC regarding who he wants our CIs to be, and IF he has chosen to
set our own Area's rules to welcome the help of CIs (those in HQ's
list and out of HQ's list), Area 14 would definitely be glad to have
more manpower to help out in our area events as INSTRUCTORS since
we're now facing with a manpower problem for area events. On the other
hand, what if AC decides to just follow HQ's directives, could I ask
what will happen next?

Answering to your question why games day is no longer combined with oath taking like we used to is because with promotion held on the same day with the Oath taking for last year and this year, it is very difficult to run with the limited manpower.

This year, promotion is again held on the same day as oath taking again, and this time round we are faced with a larger problem of shortage of manpower because this time round all units will take promotion together, instead of 3 units on each week. We need more CIs to clear the promotion and run the oath taking concurrently.

Yea, as I said, during the meeting, not everyone was there to cast their vote and there were some constraints faced by the hosting school, therefore, I feel that we should re-consider our vote and think in their shoes as well.

The objective of the games day and campfire is actually more or less the same, that is to bond the whole area together as based on last year's feedback, cadets feel that they actually like the area more and would look foward to more area activities. However, we would still leave it to the coordinators to come out with the objectives though.

Anyway, thanks for voicing out your personal opinion.

Just wondering did you read my email carefully. I meant the past and not now that Games Day should be held together with Oath Taking. Up to coordinators to decide the core benefits for the cadets in arranging such events then.

How long will oath taking take? It will only involved Sec 1s and perhaps 2-5 CIs to be around for the event whereas the rest shall be down for the test? After the oath-taking, which perhaps take 1 to 2 hours, the CIs involved shall take the promo test also?

I seriously do not think that there are shortage of manpower in the area, it will depends how it's gonna be planned. =)

Maybe i did misread the meaning of your email. As to how long will oath taking take, it is 2.30pm to 6pm it is not just 1-2 hours but 3 hours as oath taking is not just swearing that's it, but there are game thereafter for the sec 1s to enjoy and have fun at the end of the day. Maybe you didn't know since you are not involved in area for so long. It will mainly involve Sec 1s and involve 6 CIs for the whole event, and arrangement was made for 2 of the CIs out of the 6 to help out in promo after they are done with the job scope. It was well-planned already. Anyway, thanks for replying despite you having finished your service as a CI and showed concern over area matters~! LTA fine-tunes rules for taxis in CBD

SINGAPORE : The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has fine-tuned the rules for taxis in the Central Business District (CBD).

Starting from Monday, taxis will be allowed to pick up and drop off passengers on side roads of the CBD where buses do not ply.

Along roads that have buses plying, taxis can only pick up and drop off passengers at taxi stands or on driveways of buildings between 7am and 10pm.

LTA said cabbies have up till 1 May to get used to the revised rules, after that depending on circumstances, they may be fined if they do not comply.

According to the LTA, it will continue to install more taxi stands on roads in the CBD. It will also make taxi stand signs more prominent and install new signs to direct passengers to the nearest taxi stands.

The adjustments are made after receiving feedback from cabbies and commuters over the past two weeks.

OKAYS, that's not all! went to service his bike and HAHAHA, AND HE ACCOMPANIED ME TO CUT MY HAIR! oh mans! this is like the 1st time a friend(a guy somemore) accompanied me to cut my hair! wth! hahaha.. and everyone thought he is my bf! OH PLEASE! hahaha.. i wouldn't want him to be my bf, neither he wants me to be his gf lar! hahaha. OKAYS, but it is so hilarious how we claimed our innocence when people just misunderstood our status! (: hahahaha... OKAYS, his driving is dangerous! HAHAHA! especially when he stalled his engine up the slope! and he rides fast! hahaha!

and after trying all other bikes, i realised how much i dare not pillion scrambler! maybe i just dare not take HIS ride(he's a safe rider actually). i'm just so alright with my other friends' bikes(even though they ride dangerously, just like the great friend of mine)! (:

cheeries! eh friend! ride safer hor! service this and that is not cheap, so ride safely! hahaha.. YAY! and that this friend has a bike, there's free transportation whenever we go out! HAHAH!

OKAYS, I SHALL STAY UP AND FINISH UP MY ABNORMAL PSYCH! (: thank goodness i studied once through during the mid sem break! -pat on my shoulder-

my kid was making me laugh during the tuition.

he was asking me about Mas Selamat's escape.

and he asked me this.

he: teacher, how he escape?
me: he jumped down from the toilet window and ran away.
he: NO! he didn't.
me: so how you think he escaped?
he: we(my friends and i) think that he went to toilet
me: yah! i know, then he escaped from the toilet's window
he: NO! he sat at the toilet bowl and he flushed himself down, then he flushed down to the first floor and ran away.
me: (laughs) x 100
me: who told you this?! you don't talk nonsense to me!
he: my teacher said one!
me: you dun talk rubbish to me! do you think i will believe you?!
he: my teacher said last time there was this baby, she got flushed down the toilet
me: don't talk rubbish, continue your correction!
he: teacher, i want to go toilet
me: FOR WHAT?
he: i don't want to do corrections, so now i go toilet and flush myself down the toilet bowl
me: (stared hard) YOU GO, AND YOU MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH YOURSELF DOWN, AND DON'T APPEAR INFRONT OF ME
he: okays! if i managed to do that, can you buy me dual master cards?
me: what you think?!
he: if you don't buy for me, i don't flush myself down.


OH MAN! i was so tempted to say i will buy him 2 packets of that dual master cards in exchange for his 'stunt'.

but at least, he did make me laughed with his nonsense! (:

kenny nudged me in msn and he made sure i was alright before he logged off to club. TSK! but kenny! i appreciated it alot! hehe! especially when you are all the way in california! eh! stop clubbing SO much, although i know its cheap to club there! AIYOH!

'mama' was giving me good advices in msn too! hahaha.. she just wanted me to cherish the moments and not think that much. maybe because she knows it's not easy for me to get these moments, so what i should really do is to treasure them instead of dwelling too much into the other aspects! (: thanks mama! and so sorry that i had to trouble you when you are so busy! (:

then comes fraddy! OKAYS, he should be in thailand now for his commando training. HAHAHA. same as kenny and 'mama', he gave me advices in msn as well. HAHAHA. and it was a long chat till 3am with him telling me about his lovey dovey stories too! i still think he and lydia are compatible! (:

okays, sundays are good because i can settle down and study. (: i'm done with abnormal psych. i did my physics' tutorial and i settled my EL tutorial presentation as well. (:

i've sort out things already. and like what 'mama' said, i will cherish the moments. and like what kenny and frad said, sometimes its good to just keep the feelings inside and remain as friends.

so the week has ended, there goes my mid sem break! ):

school starts tmr.

my mum called me at every hour interval to make sure i will reach home before the clock strike to 12am.

she is just so worried that mas selamat would manage to 'drop by' telok blangah area.

dinner with the WEIs, frad(and his gf) and chye.. it's cool lar! haven't been seeing them for donkey years. and i really look forward to work with them for one commercial camp at least! i think it will be so fun! hahaha.
