this is what happened to my dear muscle cells:
muscle cells ------
anaerobic respiration--------> lactic acid +
lactic acid +
LACTIC ACIDi learned my lesson.
1) i am more suitable in swimming than running.
2)
IF i should run again, i will just bring along cash or ez link card.
it was an embarrassment yest evening when i went for my jog to harbourfront. i braved up to '
borrow' that 1 buck from the nicey auntie to take a bus ride home after i sat at the bus stop for 45 minutes feeling giddy.
-shake head- okays, enough of the embarrassment. i told vic, abby, serene and an qi and they just can't stop laughing at my stupidity. SIGH. ):
OH! we finally had our mac lunch after 12 wks since sch started.
you see, there's a burger king in NUS, and serene is like the burger king kid, so we always had our project discussion there instead of mac. and, our initial plan was to discuss our stats project while we lunch-ed. BUT, being girls, we started to digress to topics like
1) homeosexuality; particularly the gays.
2) sexual infidelity; particularly the guys. (:
“male mate preferences and standards of female beauty should evolve to reflect the physical and behavioral cues that signify female reproductive capability... Physical appearance probably provides the strongest set of cues, and these include features such as clear, smooth, and unblemished skin, lustrous hair, white teeth, clear eyes, and full lips” (Buss, 1987)
"part of the female reproductive strategy is to secure mates that are able and willing to provide necessary resources. Hence, female mate choice criteria should include signs indicating control or potential control over necessary resources, and related personality traits – ambition, dominance, diligence." (Buss, 1987)
thats what the evolutionary psychologists examined. i find this very interesting. women feel more distress about emotional infidelity; fearing the loss of a mate's resources and help in bringing up their children whilst men feel more distress from sexual infidelity; the uncertainty about the paternity of offspring.
is this nature or nurture? nurture because guys learned from one another via observational learning.
monkey see monkey do. one guy be unfaithful to his partner, other guys must follow. SIGH. or maybe this is how they are born to be. i once heard/learned from one of the modules( i think its sociology or social psychology) i took last semester, that the fact guys have that many sperms released and females just released that one and only egg explains all. do you take this view?
i am really so interested in this gender difference. and its kinda saddening that i've all the negative impressions on guys. i mean, to me, the opposite gender behaves the same. they can have 101 excuses when trying to get the girl and 101 excuses to shake her off. despite they tried to defend themselves, they eventually skewed to what i've perceived.
my dear guy friends, what is your stance on this issue then? (:
maybe its all stereotypes. like how i've stereotyped that guys will be labeled blue colour, females pink colour.on a lighter note, its public holiday tmr! (: nothing to be happy about when i need to meet my groupmates to rush out our presentation.
anyhows, happy deepavali. enjoy your day
meera. (:
